In ‘Euphoria’ season three episode seven, Nate’s death comes in the form of a rattlesnake and a shovel. With new episodes of this show, the level of chaos and drama has also kept increasing. With episode seven of ‘Euphoria’ season three, ‘Rain or Shine’, Sam Levinson saved the most chaos for exactly the right moment. For years, Nate Jacobs has been one of the show's most dangerous, emotional, and misunderstood characters. From being manipulative, explosive, emotionally abusive, and deeply damaged, we see a different side to him in season three. Is Nate Jacobs Dead In Euphoria Season 3 Episode 7?

After suffering at Naz’s wrath all season, Nate finally bid goodbye to the show. Yes, Nate Jacobs is dead, and we get to see his corpse on screen with full visual confirmation of rattlesnake venom effects. We watch as his wife, Cassie, weeps over his body as the episode closes, which is about as definitive as television gets. Killing him off gives the episode genuine consequence because it removes one of the show's central characters just as the finale approaches, creating a massive question about the future of ‘Euphoria’ without t Nate. Jacob Elordi is officially done with the show, and with his character gone, ‘Euphoria’ is walking into its finale without its most terrifying antagonist.

How Did Nate Jacobs Die In Euphoria Season 3 Episode 7?

Nate’s passing is simultaneously the most dramatic and most ridiculous death this show has ever staged, which is really saying something. The loan sharks holding Nate hostage over his debt buried him alive in a shallow grave with a small vent to the outside world, giving Cassie three days to come up with the money to buy his freedom. Cassie scrambles, and  Maddy gets involved. Another person who gets caught up in Nate’s drama is Alamo. 

Cassie wriggled her way out of the situation with help from Maddy and Alamo, who showed up at the drop site and shot one of the loan sharks dead, ending the standoff. A rescue, technically, except not really. When Naz discovered the deception, Alamo shot him dead. Artur then used construction equipment to dig Nate out of the ground, only for Cassie and Maddy to discover he had already died from the rattlesnake bite. With Cassie's screams, the episode ends.

What Happens To Rue’s Operation With The DEA?

While Nate is meeting his end underground, Rue is dealing with her own survival crisis above it. Rue slams her face into the dashboard of a car to make it look like Alamo hit her, then shows up at Laurie's, claiming she has been assaulted. Rue and her dangerous, desperate improvisation have kept her alive this entire season. 

Just when you think that things will get better, they get worse. Faye enters Rue's room and tells her they need to get the money now, as Wayne is going to kill her. They slowly work their way to the basement, but once they get there, the key does not work. Faye slowly takes Wayne's keys from where he is sleeping and brings them to Rue, with the sounds of machinery covering the extremely loud opening of the safe. Then Faye flips on Rue entirely and screams to wake everyone up, leaving Rue trapped, exposed, and heading into the finale with her life on the line. 

Cassie’s Career Crashes Down 

With episode seven of ‘Euphoria’ season three, Nate isn’t the only thing that Cassie loses.  Cassie cannot un-delete her OnlyFans account, and the network behind LA Nights does not want an actual OnlyFans creator playing one on the show. The role that felt like her redemption arc is gone before the ink is even dry. Patty praises Lexi's writing and then asks her to fire her own sister, which is a level of cruelty that hits differently when it comes wrapped in professional politeness. 

With all this happening, Maddy also loses her own professional standing after helping Cassie secure the audition in the first place. By the end of the episode, Cassie has lost her husband and her career and is seen weeping over a coffin. Sydney Sweeney absolutely commits to every second of her role, and her performance is unreal!

Maddy’s Shady Deal With Alamo

If it weren’t for Maddy, Alamo would have never helped Cassie with Nate’s ticking situation. Maddy helped pull off the rescue, but Alamo has made absolutely sure she knows the price of that favour. In the aftermath, Alamo makes sure Maddy knows he is going to get twenty per cent of all of her future earnings. It is the kind of arrangement that sounds like a business deal and functions like a trap, and Maddy is sharp enough to know exactly which one it is. She helped save Cassie's husband, lost her professional credibility in the process, and has now handed a controlling cut of her future income to a man who has never once operated in good faith. Cassie has always been emotionally messy, but Maddy making increasingly destructive choices in pursuit of loyalty is becoming one of the episode's most unsettling slow-motion collapses. The finale cannot come soon enough. 

Fans can’t wait to see what happens with Rue and her friends in the next episode. We hope that more of our favourite characters don’t get killed off in the grand finale of ‘Euphoria’ season three next week.
