Amidst former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s many troubles, the Islamabad High Court has now agreed to hear a petition against him. He has sought his disqualification in the case where he has been accused of hiding his daughter, Tyrian White, in nomination papers. The petition is scheduled for hearing on December 20, 2022.

Here’s all you need to know about Tyrian White and why she has taken the spotlight.

Who is Tyrian White?

Tyrian was allegedly born out of wedlock with Khan’s former lover Sita White, who filed a lawsuit against the former Pakistan prime minister in the United States, as per the news agency PTI.

Back in 1997, a California court issued a default judgement declaring Tyrian as the daughter of the former Pakistan cricketer turned politician as he had refused to submit a DNA test to claim otherwise.

Khan has allegedly never claimed Tyrian as his child. She resides in London and recently, Khan’s former wife Jemima Khan has been seen often meeting her and sharing pictures with her on social media. In one of the pictures, she is seen hugging her affectionately and as a caption, she wrote, “Hate it when you go @tyrianwhite x.”

About The Petition

The petition is in response to an affidavit submitted by Khan for the byelections for nine National Assembly seats that were held in August 2022. During this, the court remarked that Khan did not act as "sagacious, righteous, honest and a man of good character in terms of Article 62 of the Constitution", by not mentioning his daughter Tyrian’s name.

Khan’s two sons- 26-year-old Sulaiman and 23-year-old Qasim, who were born from his marriage with Jemima Goldsmith in 1995, are the only children acknowledged by the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

About Imran Khan

Khan began his career with international cricket at the age of 18 in 1971 and served as the captain of the Pakistan Cricket team between 1982 and 1992. Under his captaincy, the team won the 1992 Cricket World Cup which is Pakistan's first and only victory in the World Cup. After a successful cricket career, he founded the PTI in 1996 which became the second largest party in the National Assembly. In August 2018, he was elected the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan and served the same till April 2022.
