Vikram Vedha Teaser: Saif Ali Khan & Hrithik Roshan: It’s A Clash Of The Titans

The teaser of the upcoming Hindi film Vikram Vedha starring Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan was released on August 24, 2022. The film is scheduled to have a theatrical release on September 30.

T-Series, the makers of the film took to social media to release the video. The teaser begins with Roshan telling Khan that “This story is not only fun but also shocking.”

Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, based on the famous Vikram Betaal, the Tamil version narrates the story of a cop (Vikram) who sets out to track down and kill gangster Vedha. The story unfolds after Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself and tells Vikram three stories that changes his perception of good and evil.

“It is easier to choose between good and evil. But in this story, both are evil,” says Roshan in the teaser video.

Written and directed by the Tamil filmmaker duo Pushkar and Gayathri, and produced by S. Sashikanth, the Tamil neo-noir action thriller starred Vijay Sethupathi and R. Madhavan in the lead. While Sethupathi played the gangster, Madhavan played the cop, and what a whistle-worthy film it is. The film collected approximately ₹600 million at the box office and became one of the biggest hits that year.

In the upcoming Hindi remake, Khan will be playing the cop and Roshan will be portraying Sethupathi’s role of the gangster. The film also stars Radhika Apte, Rohit Saraf, Yogita Bihani, and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.

Though Khan has played a cop before in the Netflix series Sacred Games, he has definitely differentiated his role in the upcoming action film. While Roshan mentioned his Vikram Vedha journey to be as “frightful and delightful” as a skydive. “It’s been a journey of remolding, rewiring and trusting,” he wrote on his social media, post the wrap up. He further thanked the filmmaker duo and added, “For me, becoming Vedha, good or bad, wouldn’t have been possible without the powerful presence of Saif Ali Khan as Vikram, in addition to all my co-actors esp Rohit Saraf, Radhika Apte & Yogita Bihani who gave me an impetus as a performer.”

The upcoming Vikram Vedha is directed by the same filmmaker duo, Pushkar and Gayathri, while the screenplay has been penned by Neeraj Pandey. Sashikanth is once again producing the film along with Chakravarthy Ramachandra, Pandey, Shital Bhatia and Bhushan Kumar under the banners of T-Series, Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks.
