Many times we have seen Bollywood celebrities advocating for the rights of animals and speaking for protecting the lovely creatures against cruelty. With these associations, several divas have turned either vegan or vegetarian.
A vegan diet includes meals prepared with only plant-based sources. It does not comprise dairy products that are sourced from animals. The list below mentions Bollywood actresses who have turned vegans. Let’s take a look!
Jacqueline Fernandez

“I went vegan, and I’ve never felt better. Now, I want to share that wonderful feeling with everybody I know. Going vegan is the best thing you can do to help stop animal suffering, protect the environment and safeguard your own health,” Jacqueline on sharing her choices to leave meat and dairy products.
In 2014, the actress won the title for ‘Women of the Year’ by PETA. She is among a few celebrities who have come out in public and expressed their love for animals. She even endorses a range of Body Shop that claims to be cruelty-free.
Shraddha Kapoor
In 2019, Shraddha Kapoor became a vegan. She was a vegetarian for a while and decided to go for a plant-based diet. Sharing her diet, she switched from cow milk to almond milk.
The actress is a part of a few Environmental Protection NGOs and has stood for the causes of protecting nature and animals.
Richa Chadha

Richa Chadha was a vegetarian who turned vegan because of the mass production and numbers in which dairy products were being available in the market. Therefore, he decided to give up on dairy food items and accepted plant-based produce.
In an interview with Vegan First, the talented actress shared that she completes her protein requirements from spinach, potatoes, tofu, etc. She eats dry fruits and grows herbs and fruits like kari patta (neem), ajwain (bishop’s weed), guava, tej patta (bay leaf), pudina (mint), iceberg lattice, etc. at her home.
Sonam Kapoor
A few years back, the fashion icon, Sonam Kapoor, adopted a vegan lifestyle and has been vocal about it since. Before switching to veganism, she was a vegetarian for a long time. In 2018, the actress won the title of ‘Person of the Year’ by PETA.
On choosing a vegan lifestyle, Sonam was quoted saying, “I believe in making compassionate choices. So much so, I am having soya milk coffee now, I don’t even have dairy.”
Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha turned vegan to join the fight against animal cruelty. The actress is renowned for her admiration for animals. According to several reports, she confessed that she experienced better metabolism after going vegan and has lost weight.

Kangana Ranaut
A few years ago, Kangana Ranaut became a vegan. Explaining her gradual shift to veganism, the actress was quoted saying, “When I decided to become a vegetarian, I realised that consuming dairy products was not agreeing with me and was giving me acidity. Hence, I switched to being a vegan and this has made a lot of difference in my life. I am very happy now.”
