Many celebrities had a story similar to two states, and some went as far as uniting two countries. Their weddings images did not only symbolise unity in diversity, but they also included rituals and ceremonies from both families as a sign to show respect for cultures of each other. 

Let’s see the celebrities who had cross-cultural weddings.

1 Mouni Roy - Suraj Nambiar

Earlier this year, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar tied the knot in Goa. They celebrated their union in Bengali and Kerala style weddings. The first wedding was in Kerala style. It happened in the day in Hilton Goa Resort.

The second wedding was in Bengali style. For the first wedding, the couple wore traditional couture in white, while for the night wedding, Mouni wore a gorgeous red lehenga, and Suraj donned beige Sherwani.

10 Shilpa Shetty - Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty has Mangalorean roots, while Raj Kundra is a Punjabi. They had a lavish wedding which close friends and family attended. The couple had pre-wedding festivities honouring the backgrounds of both bride and groom. They even had multi-cuisine food.

2 Deepika Padukone - Ranveer Singh 

In 2020, the power couple of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married in Lake Como, Italy. They had ceremonies celebrating the vibrant cultures of North and South India. Ranveer belongs to Sindhi Community, while Deepika was brought up in Bengaluru. She belongs to a Saraswat Brahmin family, and her parents spoke Konkani.

For the Konkani ceremony, Deepika was in a gold and red Kanjeevaram saree, while Ranveer wore a white silk dhoti and kurta. For the Sindhi wedding, the couple were wearing red ensembles and had the Anand Karaj ceremony.

3 Asin Thottumkal - Rahul Sharma

In 2016, Asin Thottumkal and Rahul Sharma tied the knot in private ceremonies held in Catholic and Hindu styles. For the Christian wedding, the actress wore a stunning white gown, and Rahul settled for a black suit.

In the evening, they had the traditional North Indian style wedding. It includes pheras (seven circles around the fire) and jai mala (flower garlands). Asin wore an embellished Sabyasachi lehenga and was wearing a creamy white sherwani and pagdi (turban).

4 Katrina Kaif - Vicky Kaushal

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married in December 2021. The wedding ceremonies took place in Hotel Six Senses Fort Barwara. Before the wedding, they had Haldi and Sangeet ceremonies. Both actors have shared the images on their social media accounts.

Their wedding was in Punjabi style. Katrina wore a Sabyasachi lehenga and had a veil customised to pay homage to the groom’s roots. Vicky was, however, wearing a beige sherwani. To pay tribute to the Christian roots of her mother, the actress was wearing a pastel-coloured saree and donned it with a veil. Vicky, on the other hand, was seen wearing a bandhgala.

5 Priyanka Chopra - Nick Jonas

Tying the nuptial knot in Jodhpur, the wedding pictures of Priyanka and Nick seemed straight out of a fairy tale book. Their pre-wedding festivities included pooja, haldi, mehandi and sangeet ceremonies.

The first wedding was in Christian style, and Nick’s father officiated it. Priyanka Chopra wore a white ensemble design by Ralph Lauren, and Nick Jonas donned a black tuxedo. For the Hindu wedding, the bride was wearing a beautiful red lehenga by Sabyasachi, and the groom wore a bandhgala sherwani. They had multiple receptions as well.

6 Miheeka Bajaj - Rana Daggubati

In August 2020, Miheeka Bajaj and Rana Daggubati got married. It was an intimate affair because of the pandemic. Their pre-wedding festivities were an amalgamation of North and South Indian wedding styles. 

The ceremonies included the Bhaat Nyotana ceremony (North Indian tradition), Lagna Patrikalu (Tamil Tradition), Haldi and Mehandi. The main wedding ceremony included rituals from both sides. They had the seven pheras around the fire as well as Gauri puja. 

7 Genelia D’Souza - Riteish Deshmukh

This glamorous couple tied the knot in 2012. Their love story is known to all, and they continue to give us couple goals through their social media accounts. The couple has two sons. 

When they got married, they included Maharashtrian and Christian rituals to honour the roots of both families. For the Maharashtrian wedding, Genelia and Riteish were dressed in traditional attires, while for the Christian wedding, the bride wore a white gown, and the groom was in a black suit. 

8 Neha Kakkar - Rohanpreet Singh

The couple got hitched in New Delhi in October 2020. Their pre-wedding festivities included mehandi, haldi and sangeet ceremonies. They had two weddings. The first one was Anand Karaj which happened in the morning. Neha wore a stunning blush pink lehenga, while Rohanpreet donned a bandhgala sherwani. 

For the night wedding, the singer was dressed in a red lehenga, and the groom was in a red sherwani. They dedicated songs to each other and looked ethereal in the photos shared on social media. 

9 Vidya Balan - Siddharth Roy Kapoor

Vidya and Siddharth tied the knot in December 2012, and since then, they have been giving us major couple vibes. They were friends for a long time and fell for each other. Their wedding was a mix of South Indian and Punjabi traditions. The main ceremony took place in a temple, and the rest of the rituals were carried out in Green Mile Bungalow in Mumbai.
