The continuous use of sponges can make them a breeding ground for germs, bacteria and moulds. If you use high-quality sponges that are made of durable foam, you can run them under a normal cold or hot water cycle. However, to ensure no damage to sponges, you must put them in a mesh bag.

After washing, toss the pillow in the dryer and add dryer balls to it. It will add the fluff and prevent the buildup of mildew. 

Silk Fabric

Contrary to popular beliefs, you can wash silk fabric in the washing machine. Though it is renowned for its delicacy, silk is also one of the strongest materials on this planet. The game is of the products that you use to wash the fabric.

Hence, if you want to clean the stains on the silk, put it in a mesh bag and run in an express cycle. Add mild liquid detergent for efficient cleaning. A short cycle is enough to clean the fabric without causing any damage to it. After washing, you can air-dry your silk kurta, saree or any other ensemble.
