Mrunal Thakur, who has been a beloved face in every household due to Hindi television show Kumkum Bhagya has recently made her way to Bollywood and is awaiting her Telugu debut film. She will appear as a lead in the upcoming Telugu film Sita Ramam along with Rashmika Mandanna and Dulquer Salmaan. The film is scheduled to release on August 5.
Born in Maharashtra, the actor started off with the 2012 Hindi daily soap opera Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan on Star Plus and later went on to star in the hit Hindi serial Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV. She became a known face among the household with her character from 2014 to 2016 and then turned to films. She debuted with the 2014 Marathi film Vitti Dandu. Her Hindi film was the 2018 international romantic drama film Love Sonia. In between her film debut and television show, she also participated in reality shows including Box Cricket League 1 in 2014 and Nach Baliye 7 in 2015.
Thakur has also appeared in several music videos including Bad Boy x Bad Girl with Badshah, Aise Na Chhorowith Guru Randhawa, and the music video Gallan Goriyaopposite Abraham.

Though she received critical acclaim for her debut film, Thakur’s first big Bollywood break happened with the 2019 Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30. Later she starred in Batla House opposite John Abraham in 2019, and Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey in 2022, which were big theatrical releases.
Thakur also starred in films that premiered on OTT platforms including the 2020 Netflix venture Ghost Stories, the four-part anthology horror film. She played the character of Ira in Karan Johar’s segment- Story 4. In 2021, she starred in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra-directed sports drama film, Toofan, starring Farhan Akhtar which premiered on Amazon Prime Video. In the same year, she also starred along with Kartik Aaryan and Amruta Subhash in the Netflix film Dhamaka.

Thakur also has an upcoming Hindi film Pooja Meri Jaan with Huma Qureshi. The film was announced on Monday. She also has the upcoming Hindi war drama Pippa, starring Ishaan Khatter, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan, in the pipeline. She completed shooting for the film in October last year.

Now, Thakur is about to make a splash in the Telugu film industry with the upcoming release of Sita Ramam and fans are waiting to see if she makes her own place there as she did in Bollywood.
