On October 11, Akshay Kumar starring Ram Setu dropped its trailer on YouTube and took Twitter by storm. The film will release on October 25, a day after Diwali.

The film is about the bridge described in the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to legends, when Lord Rama had to cross the ocean between India and Lanka (Sri Lanka) to fight Ravana and bring back Sita, his Vanar Sena (monkey army) helped him build a bridge of stones.

It is said that people in his army wrote Ram on every large stone and threw them in the ocean, which charmed them into floating instead of sinking. Many believe this bridge still exists in the depths of the ocean. Some Indian scholars have even received approval to conduct research. Akshay Kumar plays the role of a scientist in the film, who goes looking for answers to the questions raised in Hindu mythology.
