Pusarla Venkata Sindhu or PV Sindhu, the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal in badminton's love for the game is such that she quit her well-paying job to pursue her love and passion for badminton. Sindhu has made the country proud by being one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal, the other being Saina Nehwal.
Born on July 5, 1995, Sindhu has left spectators stunned by her fantabulous performance on courts. We always have been curious to find out how this sports star keeps herself fit and active.
PV Sindhu's Fitness Secret
Being a sportsperson, Sindhu maintains herself to be active as well as energetic on courts. Of 24 hours, she spends 8 hours of rigorous training. Not just this, she also follows a strict diet to remain fit and energetic.
Sindhu is an early riser and starts her morning training session at 4:30 am under the guidance of her coach Gopichand. Yes, while most of us are still sleeping, this youth sports icon trains herself to perform and make the country proud. The morning training session continues till 7 am after which she heads for breakfast. The training resumes around 8 for another couple of hours. The training then again starts at 11 am for about two hours.
Before starting with her training, Sindhu performs stretching exercises and ends her training with running.
Sindu trains six days a week and apart from this she also undergoes a strict workout regime which makes her flexible. She does cardio, performs yoga, goes for jogging as well as swimming among others.
That is not all, fitness freak Sindhu every day does at least 200 sit ups and 100 push ups.
Her workout session is different for each day focusing on her abdomen, shoulders, back, and knees.
Sindhu keeps herself well hydrated during her training and workout session.
What PV Sindhu Eats
The ace badminton player manages a perfect balance between the carbs and proteins. Sindhu strictly follows the diet prescribed to her.
Her day starts with eggs, fresh fruits and a glass of milk. For lunch and dinner, Sindhu eats meat with rice and vegetables.
She carries her snack for her workout which usually comprises of a bowl of fruits, some dried nuts and a bottle of energy drink - Gatorade.
