Expert Tips On How To Please Goddess Lakshmi On Diwali

Diwali is almost here and it brings along the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Goddess Lakshmi is believed to be the goddess of wealth and fortune. Everyone wants Goddess Lakshmi to reside in their house for long in the form of money. Diwali is the time when people welcome Goddess Lakshmi to their homes with all their heart and please them so that she stays for a long time. This makes people invite more wealth and fortune to their home. We had a word with Jyotish Acharya Sonia Malik and she shared how to please Goddess Lakshmi on the day of Diwali.

1. Along with all the sweets that you are offering to Goddess Lakshmi during Diwali puja, make sure you also offer rice kheer as prasad to her during this Puja. This is considered really auspicious.

2. Make sure you buy new utensils for your home during Diwali. If not many, at least, try to bring one new utensil for your home.

3. Chant “Shree” 108 times. This is considered the strongest of all mantras for Goddess Lakshmi. 

4. Gift something to your maids, workers or employees in green colour on the day of Diwali. 

5. Prepare five diyas using desi ghee and light them in front of Goddess Lakshmi.

6. Offer lotus flowers to Goddess Lakshmi on this day as she loved these flowers and gets impressed by it. 

7. It is believed that one must keep silver idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha during puja. It is considered very beneficial. Not only on the day of diwali but they should be worshipped every day.

8. Do buy some silver on this day. Silver is considered really auspicious on this day. You can pick it in any form of your choice. Just make sure you unpack it and place it near Goddess Lakshmi’s idol during the puja. 

9. Goddess Lakshmi loves cleanliness. Make sure you home is very clean; your clothes are neat and tidy. Nothing should be messy around her idol. Prepare a rangoli which is considered really great during this time. Decorate your home with some diyas too.

10. Try not to wear anything in the colour black during this puja. Wear bright colours like reds, yellows, whites which are liked by Goddess Lakshmi. 

11. Goddess Lakshmi likes to be in a peaceful and harmonious environment. Try to make everything peaceful at home during the festival. Make sure no one fights or argues during this time.

12. Perform the Diwali rituals with your entire family but in a peaceful manner. Make sure you don’t clap or chant loudly during the puja as Goddess Lakshmi dislikes it.
