Step-by-Step Uttara Puja and Visarjan Vidhi at Home

Before taking out the idol from the altar, conduct the Uttara Puja:

1. Offerings: Light the lamp (diya) and the incense sticks. Offer fresh flowers, Durva grass, fruits, and Modaks or Laddus.

2. Aarti and Prayers: Conduct the final Ganpati Aarti with the family members with feelings of thankfulness and forgiveness for any mistakes done unintentionally in the course of the 10 days.

3. Siddhibuddhi Tilak: Place a new tilak of vermilion and akshata (raw rice) on the forehead of Bappa.

4. Symbolic Movement: Move the idol a little bit to the right side, indicating the end of His presence in the house.

5. Chanting: Chant 'Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya!' and take out the idol towards the Visarjan site.

• Container Filling: Put some fresh water into a big bucket or clean drum.

• Immersion: Slowly immerse your eco-friendly clay idol (Clay or Shadu Mati) in the filled container after praying.

• Dissolving Clay: Let the clay completely dissolve in the water.
