Disha Vakani Throat Cancer Rumours: Brother Mayur Vakani Denies Reports

Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah is one of the most popular TV shows in India, and has managed to stay in the hearts of fans for decades now. This is the oldest running show on Indian TV right now, and fans still wait for the next episode eagerly.

However fans have been missing the essence of the show as the lead actor Disha Vakani aka Dayaben left the show a few years ago after the birth of her daughter in 2017.

Throat Cancer Rumours

According to latest reports, Disha Vakani has been suffering from throat cancer due to the peculiar voice she used in the show. In an interview in 2010, she told a media house that she has been facing issues due to her voice. She had to use that voice Dayaben is famous for, for about 11-12 hours a day, which led to throat problems.

However, her brother Mayur Vakani, who features as Sundar Lal on the show, has shot down media reports that claim that Disha has throat cancer. He told ETimes, “Aise bahut saare afwaayein aate rehte hain ismein koi sacchayi nahi hai (these kinds of rumours keep doing the rounds in the media and there is no truth to it). She is hale and hearty and nothing of this is true. Every day we get to hear baseless rumours about her but fans should not believe any of these.(sic)"

Daya’s Return In TMKOC

Since she left, everyone has been waiting for her return, which has been anticipated many times in the past but so far fans have been left disappointed.

However, fans can rejoice as according to reports, Dayaben will come back during the Navratri track. The Navratri track has already begun and all the society members in the show are excited to celebrate the festival. If reports are to be believed, all the members of the society will ask Goddess Durga to bring back Dayaben and their wish will finally be granted.

Dayaben has been living in Ahmedabad for a long time and now, Jethalal eagerly wants her back. Therefore, he decided to perform puja in Gokuldham society on the first day of Navratri. While worshipping Goddess Durga, he will ask her to bring back Daya. Along with Jethalal, other society members including Bhide, Babita, Popatlal and others decide to perform the puja before the Navratri celebrations.

Now, we are wondering whether she will come back or if this is again a rumour.. There are also rumours about the show replacing her ever since she left.
