Mehendi or henna has been an integral part of celebrations in India. From festivals to weddings, mehendi holds a special place and women just can't do without it! Especially, when it comes to weddings, mehendi is considered really auspicious and it has been a part of our culture for centuries. The joy of flaunting dark and beautiful mehendi on your hands and feet at wedding ceremonies is really special. But when your mehendi doesn't turn out to be dark enough, it can be a huge disappointment! Don't worry. This wedding season flaunt that really dark mehendi with these easy tips:

Make sure you wash your hands well with soap before applying mehendi. This will remove all the other layers from your hand and you will get a darker shade of mehendi. Also, make sure you don't apply any hand creams or lotions before your mehendi.
It takes a lot of time to get your mehendi done. When you invest so much time to get that perfect design, you should not remove it immediately after you feel it has started to dry. Let it dry on its own and after some time you will see it falling on its own. If possible try to keep sleep with it overnight as it gives you a darker colour.
This method of darkening mehendi is being used since years now. You must have seen mehendi walas always carrying this mix with them. Once your mehendi dries off, apply this mix on your hands and feet with cotton. Make sure you don't apply too much of this mixture on your hand as it can lighten your mehendi instead of darkening it.

Not many people know but vicks can work as a great colour enhancer for your mehendi. After your mehendi has dried, take some vicks on your palms and rub it all over your mehendi. You can apply it on your feet too. Keep it overnight and you will see how your mehendi darkens in the morning.

Cloves or laung is said to be a great ingredient for enhancing your mehendi colour. Heat some cloves on the tawa and place your hands above it. Repeat this two or three times a day. This activity will help you darken your mehendi.
Before applying your mehendi, make sure you get all your waxing, manicure and other beauty treatments done. If you get them done right after your mehendi, you may end up removing the top layer of your mehendi.
Try these mehendi tips and flaunt your dark mehendi at the weddings this season!
