Festivals are a very important part of our culture and every occasion is celebrated in its own unique and special way. One of the most popular festivals of our country is Onam which marks the beginning of the harvest festival in Kerela. This festival is particularly celebrated in the southern Indian state of Kerela. This year, Onam started on September 1 and people are celebrating it with great fervor and enthusiasm. Recently, actress Amala Paul took to Instagram to share some of her pictures celebrating this auspicious festival.

In one of the shots, Amala can be seen lighting a lamp in a red and golden silk saree. Adding more elegance to her look, she paired her ensemble with a traditional jewellery set and cut sleeves blouse. With dewy makeup, rosy cheeks, kohl-rimmed eyes, and sleek bun, she looked the epitome of beauty. She captioned her post in Malayalam and wrote, "Onam greetings of wealth and prosperity."

Sadhya is a lavish and elaborate lunch prepared on this auspicious occasion. This include over 26 different varieties of food items like banana chips, Papadam, Thoran, Mezhukkupuratti, Kaalan, Olan, Avial, Sambar, Rice, Dal, Mathan Erissery, Rasam, Pickle, Buttermilk, and Payasam, etc. These dishes are served on a banana leaf, which is traditionally used as a plate.
