Watermelon Sherbet
The flavour of watermelon comes through beautifully in this homemade sherbet recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 cups diced seedless watermelon
- A ¼ cup of cold water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 3 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 dash salt
- 1 cup chilled heavy cream
- 1 envelope unflavoured gelatin
Directions
- Combine the watermelon, sugar, lemon juice, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix it well.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Blend the mixture in a blender until smooth.
- Take out the mixture in a bowl.
- Pour the cold water in a saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water; leave it for 1 minute.
- Place the saucepan over low heat and cook for 2 minutes. Stir the gelatin mixture into the blended watermelon mixture.
- Add the heavy cream in it.
- Now beat the mixture with an electric hand mixer at medium speed until the mixture becomes fluffy.
- Transfer the mixture into an ice cream maker and leave it for 8-9 hours.
- Take it out and serve chilled.
Watermelon Pie
This simple pie is very refreshing in this scorching heat. Watermelon and a few items make it a delightful dessert that doesn’t take much effort.
Ingredients
- 1 package watermelon flavoured Jell-O
- A ¼ cup of water
- Frozen whipped cream
- 2 cups watermelon
- 1 (9 inches) prepared graham cracker crust
Directions
- Mix watermelon gelatin and water in a bowl.
- Fold gelatin mixture into the dessert topping and cut small pieces of watermelon.
- Pour mixture into graham cracker crust.
- Refrigerator for 3 hours or until set.
Watermelon Popsicles
This fresh watermelon popsicle recipe has no added sugar and only require 15 minutes of prep work!
Ingredients
- 500g peeled watermelon
- 4 kiwi
Directions
- Add watermelon to a blender and blend until pureed.
- Use a jug with a spout to carefully fill your molds with the watermelon puree.
- Leave enough room to add a kiwi layer and around ½ cm of extra room at the top to allow the popsicles to expand as they freeze.
- Freeze it for 30 mins, slide a stick gently into the center of the popsicle mold. Place it in the freezer for an hour.
- Add peeled kiwi to a blender and blend until pureed.
- Top the watermelon layer with the kiwi.
- Return to the freezer and freeze for at least 4-6 hours.
Watermelon Smoothie
This smoothie is a simple, light, sweet and refreshing drink, made in only 2 minutes! It tastes amazing!
Ingredients
- 3 cups seedless watermelon
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vanilla yogurt
Directions
- Cut the watermelon into small chunks- about a ½ inch.
- Place the watermelon chunks in a blender. Top with milk and yogurt. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the smoothie in glasses. Garnish with a wedge of watermelon and fresh mint, if desired, and serve!
