Prepare this absolutely delicious recipe of Indian Samosa that'll just steal your heart in a go. This dish is especially more amazing with minted yogurt so, if you're excited, read on to find out more.

 

  • In a bowl, take some flour and butter and add 1 teaspoon salt to it. Take 1/3 cup of water and add it to the bowl 1 teaspoon at a time. Mixture all until a dough is formed. Keep rolling the dough and make a flat work surface with it. Roll again 5 times until smooth. Now wrap the dough in cling film and chill for 1 hour.
  • In a pan take some water, add salt and then potatoes to it, cook until tender for about 15-20 minutes. Finally, after this, add the peas to it and cook again for 3 minutes then drain.
  • In another pan take some oil,   and fry the onions, then add the rest of the ingredients like cloves, ginger, chilies, and then keep stirring till a fragrant aroma arises. Next, add the mango pickle and tomato paste after putting in the potatoes and peas to it.
  • Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Then spread a layer of the dough in the baking tray. Then add the filling in the center of the pastry, beat the eggs with cold water 2 tablespoons approx, and brush this over the edges to seal. Lay another pastry over it and crimp the edges using a fork. 
  • Finally, sprinkle caraway and nigella and bake for 20- 30 minutes.
  • For minted yogurt place the yogurt, minted leaves, eschalot cloves, caster sugar, and whiz together until smooth.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Bread And Pizza Flour
  • 360g Cold Unsalted Butter
  • Cut Into Pieces
  • 800g Potatoes (Cut Into 1cm Pieces)
  • 11/2 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 11/2 Tablespoon Coconut Oil Or Ghee
  • 2 Onion Finely Chopped
  • 4 Garlic Cloves Finely Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon Grated Ginger
  • 2 Long Red Chillies Seeds Removed Chopped
  • 2 Teaspoon Madras Curry Powder
  • 2 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Teaspoon Tomato Paste
  • 2 Teaspoon Pickle
  • 2 Eggs 2 Tablespoon Caraway Seeds
  • 2 Tablespoon Nigella Seeds
  • 400g Thick Greek-style Yoghurt
  • 2 Cup Firmly Packed Mint Leaves
  • 2 Red (Asian) Eschalot
  • 2 Garlic Clove
  • 2 Teaspoon Caster Sugar

Instructions

Step 1
Make a dough with flour, butter and water, knead it smooth and chill for 1 hour.
Step 2
Cook the potatoes in salted water until tender add the peas.
Step 3
Fry onions, garlic, ginger and the rest of the ingredients and add the potatoes and peas.
Step 4
Cook them all together then add tomato sauce and mango pickle.
Step 5
Fill the pasteries with the filling prepared and cover with another layer if pastry after brushing with water and eggs at the edges.
Step 6
Use a fork to crimp the edges and you're good to bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven at 200 degrees.
Step 7
For minted yogurt, mix all the ingredients from yogurt to caster sugar, whiz and serve!
