Made with soaked moong dal and rice flour, it is a healthy snack recipe that people of all age group would love. This pakora recipe is best enjoyed when paired with a piping hot cup of masala tea or coffee. A popular dish from the North Indian cuisine, this moong dal pakora is best served as a snack or appetizer with chutney or sauce of choice.
Take a bowl and add moong dal in it. Put some water ad let the dal soak for around 3-4 hours. After 4 hours, drain out all the excess water.
To make the pakoda batter, put soaked dal in a grinder, add asafoetida, salt, green chillies, and ginger and grind into a coarse paste. You can also add a little water if you want.
Next, transfer the batter in a separate bowl and add baking soda, rice flour, and coriander leaves. Mix them well.
Take a deep frying pan or skillet and heat oil in it. Take a scoop of batter and drop it in hot oil and deep fry them until they turn golden brown in colour.
Drain out excessive oil and put the pakodas on a napkin.
Whisk 2-3 tbsps of curd. Add it on top of the pakodas. You can even add some sev or grated daikon on top.
Serve with green chutney or tamarind chutney and enjoy!
