Chutney is quite a common side dish in every Indian household. However, you can try something different by adding green apples to your chutney. This might sound weird to you but green apple chutney is quite delicious with a slightly sweet flavour.

  • To prepare this chutney, you need to grind apples, green chillies, cumin seeds and sugar in a mixer jar.
  • Now, heat some oil in a pan and add asafetida. Saute well.
  • When it releases the fragrance, switch off the flame.
  • Pour this tempering on the paste and your chutney is ready to be served.

  • 2 Green Apples (Chopped)
  • 2 Green Chillies (Chopped)
  • ½ Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ Tsp Sugar
  • Few Coriander Leaves
  • Salt
  • 2 Tsp Oil
  • ¼ Tsp Asafoetida


Step 1
Add apples, coriander leaves, green chillies and cumin seeds in a mixer jar.
Step 2
Grind it well without using any water to make a fine paste. Use sugar in the last round of grinding.

Now, transfer the paste in a bowl. Add salt to it and mix well.
Step 4
Now, heat some oil in a small pan.
Step 5
Add asafetida and sauté.
Step 6
When you start to smell the fragrance, switch off the flame.
Step 7
Pour this tempering on your paste.
Step 8
Now, your chutney is ready to be served.
