When we have an upset tummy, we need something which soothes us, fills us and helps in having it all under control. This easy to make curd rice recipe is like a magical potion we all need.

Also known as Thayir Sadam, Yogurt Rice or Daddojanam, curd rice is a fabulous recipe to use leftover rice. It is a full meal in itself and can be consumed at any time of the day. You can serve it with pickle and papad as they are the best side dish for curd rice. Also, this dish is the best thing to eat when you have an upset stomach. Eating curd rice daily improves digestion.

It is easy to digest and the probiotic helps in the growth of bacteria which aids in digestion. It cools the body and helps in maintaining internal body temperature. It indirectly helps to maintain body weight. It is rich in antioxidants and helps the body fight the infection.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 bunch of coriander Leaves
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 2 bunch curry leaves
  • 2 red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp hing

Method:

  • Add rice and water together, and pressure cook it.
  • Mix the pressure cooked rice a bit to make it soggy.
  • Add curd and milk to it and mix well.
  • Put carrot, green chilli, ginger, salt and coriander leaves. Stir the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Now take a pan, heat and pour some oil in it.
  • Add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, red chilli and hing together to make a tadka.
  • Saute them well.
  • To serve, put the curd rice in a bowl and pour the tadka over it.
