Ingredients

  • 3 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 cup cooked toor dal
  • 4 tsp chana dal
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 3 pods cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 tbsp dry coconut
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 9 dried kashmiri red chilli
  • Hanful of curry leaves
  • Pinch of hing
  • ½ chopped carrot
  • 5 chopped beans
  • 2 tbsp matar
  • ½ cubed potato
  • 1 tbsp peanuts
  • 3 cups water
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup tamarind extract
  • ½ tsp jaggery
  • ½ onions
  • 2½ cup cooked rice
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds

Instructions

Step 1
Cook the vegetables with the peanuts, 2 cups of water and half tsp turmeric and add a spoon of salt.
Step 2
Now, add 3/4 cup of tamarind extract, the jaggery and onions and then boil them for a total of 10 minutes.
Step 3
Next, add 1 cup of cooked toor dal and 2½ cup of the cooked rice along with 1 cup water.
Step 4
Now, take a pan and make the tempering by adding all the masalas (coriander seeds, chana dal, urad dal, cumin, fenugreek seeds, pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, dry coconut, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, oil, dried kashmiri red chilli, curry leaves, hing) and add 4 tsps of it in the dish and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Once done, serve in a dish.
