Easy Peasy Bread Roll Recipe On The Go!

Bread roll has been a popular breakfast choice for many Indians. Also, known as ‘Indian Potato Croquettes’, in India, there's hardly anybody who hasn't already had a bite of the scrumptious snack. 

Step-By-Step Guide- 

  1. In a large bowl, add shredded boiled potatoes, chopped onion, bell pepper, cilantro, and ginger. 
  2. Add all the desired spices and sprinkle 3-4 tsp water.
  3. Mix and form a smooth dough.
  4. Now dip each bread slice in water and squeeze to remove excess water.
  5. Wet your hand and place 1.5 Tbsp bread roll dough in your palm.
  6. Allowing the bread to be the outer covering, shape the bread rolls into the desired shape like round, oblong or ball-like. 
  7. Now heat 1 cup oil in a pot or shallow pan.
  8. Add 3-4 raw bread rolls and fry on medium flames until golden brown on both sides. 
  9. Remove the fried rolls onto a kitchen towel to soak excess oil.

Garnish the bread rolls with dhania and serve it hot and fresh with green mint chutney or mayonnaise.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp Fresh Cilantro (coriander/dhania) – thinly chopped
  • 1 Tsp Thinly Grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1/2 Cup Water – for softening bread
  • 1 Cup Oil – for frying
  • 1 Tsp Salt – as per taste
  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder – optional
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Dry Mango Powder(amchur) – optional
