Who doesn’t love Aloo Paratha? A soft wheat dough stuffed with the delicious filling of potatoes with all the lip-smacking spices. But do you find kneading and rolling the paratha a daunting task? Then, don’t worry, we are here with the ultimate solution!

Try this unbelievably simple and amazing recipe of aloo paratha with a liquid dough. Trust us, these parathas will taste just as good as the classic ones and they will not take more than 10 minutes to make. Just add a dollop of butter to the paratha and there you go!

How To Make?

  • In a pan, add some water followed by adding the potato.
  • Let the potato pieces boil.
  • Once they are boiled, peel the skin and grate them.
  • Next, mash the grated potato and knead it with your hands.
  • Add red chilli flakes and turmeric powder to the bowl.
  • Then, add chopped onions, coriander leaves, mustard oil, and salt to the potato mix.
  • Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Now, for preparing the dough, add 1 cup of wheat flour and 1 and 1/3 cup of water into a separate bowl. Whisk both the ingredients well.  
  • Add the potato mixture to the liquid dough mix. 
  • Whisk till it turns into a smooth liquid mixture.
  • For cooking the aloo paratha, heat the tawa and brush its surface with cooking oil.
  • Pour some batter into the pan and spread it evenly.
  • Cook it evenly on both sides. 
  • When the paratha starts to rise, pour 1 teaspoon of oil on its sides and continue to cook.
  • Serve your delicious Aloo Paratha with curd or pickle. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 large-sized potato (Aloo)
  • 1 cup of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 and 1/3 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard oil
  • 1-2 teaspoons of cooking oil

Instructions

Step 1
Take a large-sized potato and cut it into four pieces.
Step 2
Then, take a pan and add some water followed by adding the potato chunks. Let the potato boil on a high flame.
Step 3
Once they are boiled, peel the skin of the potato pieces and grate them in a bowl.
Step 4
After grating them, start mashing and kneading the grated potatoes with your hands.
Step 5
Now, add red chilli flakes and turmeric powder followed by chopped onions, fresh coriander leaves, mustard oil, and salt as per your taste to the bowl.

Combine all the ingredients well. Keep the mixture aside.

Next, for preparing the dough, add 1 cup of wheat flour and 1 and 1/3 cup of water into a separate bowl. Whisk both the ingredients well.

Then, add the potato mixture that we prepared earlier to the liquid dough mix. Mix the ingredients well with a spatula and then, with a whisk till it turns into a smooth liquid mixture.

Now, for cooking the aloo paratha, heat the tawa or pan on medium heat and brush its surface with cooking oil.

Pour some batter into the pan and spread it evenly.

Once it starts to cook, turn it to cook evenly on both sides. You can also dab the paratha slightly with a spatula so that it cooks nicely.

When the paratha starts to rise, pour 1 teaspoon of oil on its sides and continue frying the paratha on both sides.
