Holi, the colourful celebration, is approaching, and our excitement is at an all-time high. Today is the day to make delectable Holi foods and beverages. With holi, summers are arriving and we all crave for chilled bevarage and nothing beats Badam Thandai. Badam or almond thandai tastes delicious and is really easy to prepare. Here is how you can prepare it.

How To Make Almond Thandai?

  • Put all of the ingredients in a grinder and grind them down to a powder.
  • Bring the milk to a boil with the sugar, then add a few strands of kesar.
  • Mix in the crushed powder thoroughly. If necessary, add more water to achieve the required consistency.
  • To get a smooth Milk, strain the mixture to remove any particles.
  • Allow to cool and keep in refrigerator to chill for at least one hour.
  • Before serving, give it a good stir. Garnish and serve.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 green cardamom/ elaichi
  • 2 tsp of poppy seeds/ khus khus
  • 1 tsp of fennel seeds/ saunf
  • 5-6 black peppercorns/ kali mirch
  • 3/4 tsp saffron/ kesar
  • 1 tsp roasted watermelon seeds/ sunflower seeds
  • A pinch of nutmeg- optional
  • 4 cups of almond milk
  • Seedless Dates/Raw Sugar/Palm Sugar to taste
  • hopped Pistachios
  • Silver Leaves
  • Pinch of Saffron

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Put all of the ingredients in a grinder and grind them down to a powder. (You can dry grind a bigger amount of spice mix and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. You can also adjust the quantities to suit your preferences and taste.)

  • Step 2 :

    Bring the milk to a boil with the sugar, then add a few strands of kesar.

  • Step 3 :

    Mix in the crushed powder thoroughly. If necessary, add more water to achieve the required consistency.

  • Step 4 :

    To get a smooth Milk, strain the mixture to remove any particles.

  • Step 5 :

    Allow to cool and keep in refrigerator to chill for at least one hour (or perhaps overnight to allow the spices to infuse into the drink).

  • Step 6 :

    Before serving, give it a good stir. Garnish and serve. If you have rose water or dried crushed rose petals, add some to taste.
