Martin published three novellas under the series Tales of Dunk and Egg - The Hedge Knight (1998), The Sworn Sword (2003) and The Mystery Knight (2010). They were collectively published as A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms in 2015.
Duncan the Tall set out on an adventure with his squire, Egg, who in reality was Targaryen Prince. He must disguise himself as an ordinary person to prevent revealing his identity.

As the two men set out on a journey through Westeros, they face many problems. When they attempted to solve them, they turned into comic tragedies. It might not be as complex and intense as Game of Thrones. However, it would be a good start for people to understand the realm of seven kingdoms.
As a book, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is light and entertaining to read. It would be interesting to see its adaptation on the screen after the impression that Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon has left.
