Anurag Kashyap's much-awaited movie ‘Kennedy’ was screened at the Grand Lumiere Theatre in Cannes which received a 7-minute standing ovation from the audience. The movie's screening at a venue as prestigious and popular as Cannes increased the buzz around the film as well. ‘Kennedy’ stars Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat in the lead roles. ‘Kennedy’ focuses on the insomniac police officer who goes through various situations while seeking redemption.

Sharing the movie poster on Instagram on April 24, 2023, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced that his movie ‘Kennedy’ will premiere at Cannes 2023. He wrote, “Aankh, Cannes sab khule rakhna...Kennedy aa raha hai!

In a media interaction at Cannes 2023, Anurag Kashyap said, “It's always special to show your film to the world at Cannes and it’s a lifetime moment to play at the Grand Theatre Lumiere. Kennedy is very special to me and extremely personal too. We have put our heart and soul into making this film. 7 mins long standing ovation from the audience has made me full of gratitude. ‘Kennedy’ by Anurag Kashyap is the first Indian movie to be screened at The Grand Lumiere Theatre in the midnight section. He made a comeback to the Cannes Film Festival in 2023 with this movie, where he had previously shown movies including ‘Bombay Talkies’, ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’, and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.
