We are in love with Katrina Kaif's look from her pre-wedding festivities. This look is her tribute to her British heritage. According to the designer Sabyasachi as well as the stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania, the silhouette of the outfit represented a whitw wedding gown.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee gave the details of the outfits. He wrote, "Katrina Kaif pays tribute to her mother’s British heritage during the pre-wedding festivities. Sabyasachi conceptualised and created a vintage-inspired couture sari with a trailing veil. Silhouetted like a white wedding gown, the pastel tulle sari is embellished with hand-cut English flowers, embroidered by craftswomen from Bengal and liberally sprinkled with semi precious gems and crystals. The ensemble took 40 artisans over 1800 hours to handcraft."

The jewellery was also by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. "The sari is paired with a statement uncut diamond choker detailed with opals and pale Russian emeralds, with matching earrings from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery," he wrote.

Katrina was also wearing the traditional red ‘chooda’. We just loved how she picked a simple one. Chooda holds great significance during Hindu weddings, especially Punjabi weddings as it symbolises the blessing of the elders and is known to bring good luck to the newly wed couple. Fertility and prosperity are two words that are associated with a chooda. This is why it holds great significance in the Hindu culture.

The gorgeous bride is also wearing golden kaliras which hold a lot of significance. Katrina wore a multiple layer of kaliras keeping the tradtion alive. The smaller kalleras along with the pretty gold and red tasseled long kaleeras were exclusively designed by Rahul Luthra. Keeping gold as the main element, kaleeras were sketched and curated with handmade tassels/ballllls gold beads with multiple chattar handcrafted in gold and red enamelled details over days of work at Raabta headquarters in Delhi.

Anaita Shroff Adjania styled the bespoke kaliras with customised messages from the bride herself. Each bangle carries 6-7 messenger doves. The bride’s family members tied the kalira’s on her hand and these kalira’s are a symbol of their blessings and good wishes.
