Isha walked the Met Gala 2026 red carpet wearing a stunning gold saree with an embroidered blouse and a cape, custom-designed by renowned designer Gaurav Gupta. Swadesh created the couture textile and painting, while Anaita Shroff Adajania handled styling and creative direction.

According to an Instagram post by Anaita, "Isha’s look reimagined the saree as a living canvas, merging art, craft, and couture. The design draws from India’s rich textile and artistic heritage, incorporating hand-painted and embroidered elements with a sculptural drape to position the dressed body as an artistic medium in a contemporary context. Custom woven with threads of pure gold by master artisans of Swadesh, the saree featured hand-painted pichwai-inspired motifs in soft gold and earthy tones."

Blouse Adorned With Heirloom Diamonds

Isha paired the saree with a custom blouse, adorned with diamonds and metallic zardozi embroidery, which was sourced from her mother, Nita Ambani’s personal collection, underscoring a legacy of Indian craftsmanship, including a historic Sarpech piece at the back, once part of Nizam’s collection.

Gajra Glam: A Nod to Classic Indian Beauty

Adding a touch of nostalgia, Isha styled her hair with a fragrant gajra. This simple yet powerful accessory elevated her entire look, striking a perfect balance between minimalism and opulence. The artistic reinterpretation of the Jasmine hair sculpture was created with a traditional mogra gajra, handcrafted over 150 hours by Brooklyn-based artist Sourabh Gupta using paper, copper, and brass.

Perfectly aligning with the evening’s theme, Isha carried a Subodh Gupta mango sculpture, a symbolic nod to her heritage and a literal embodiment of art in hand as a purse in a custom crochet bag by 3.10 by Guggi.

Isha’s jewellery is from Nita Ambani’s private collection of heirloom jewels; every piece on the customised blouse is from her mother's personal collection, whereas some other jewels were gifted when her children were born. Additionally, she was wearing a necklace designed by Lorraine Schwartz and Kantilal Chhotalal.
