Shilpa Shetty's Bastian Earns Rs 2-3 crore every day, says Shobhaa De; Know More About The Restaurant

Shilpa Shetty's luxury restaurant enterprise, Bastian, is undoubtedly Mumbai's finest dining scene. Recently, popular author and columnist Shobhaa De shared the whopping revenue the restaurant generates. She revealed that Shilpa's Dadar restaurant earns around Rs. 2 to 3 crores daily.

Speaking with Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Shobhaa said that the kind of money in Mumbai is astonishing. "One single restaurant in Mumbai has a turnover of Rs 2-3 crore a night. On a slow night, the turnover is Rs 2 crore and on weekends it is Rs 3 crore. I walked into that restaurant to see it myself because when I heard these numbers...I said this can't be true," she added. She further said that to see if the numbers were actually true, she visited the place on her own.

When asked by Barkha as to which place she was referring to, Shobhaa said that it's Bastian. "It's the new Bastian. It's on the top. It is 21,000 square feet, it's not even reality. You walk in there and you feel 'where am I?' You have a 360 degree view of the city."

Know All About Bastian

Nestled on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Mumbai's Dadar, Bastian At The Top is renowned for its beautiful scenic view of the city, a rooftop pool and an aesthetic ambience. It opened in 2023, and has quickly gained acclaim for being a glamourous dining spot and part destination. You will see many A-listers and high-profile guests dining at the luxurious spot.

Shobhaa also shared that the premium restaurant also serves nearly 1,400 guests every night in two separate seatings. "They do two seatings, each of 700 people. There's even a waiting list downstairs on the road in Dadar," she said, adding that the customers arrive in high-end cars like Lamborghinis and Aston Martins. "Who are these people? I have no idea," she quips.

As for the restaurant, the interiors are bold and sophisticated, often inspired by places like Cappadocia (Turkey) and Greece. It features multiple sections, a separate bar area and a plunge pool reserved for private events.

While it operates as an elevated dining space on weekdays, it transforms into an exclusive 'Supper Club' on weekends, featuring top DJs and a high-energy nightlife experience.

Some of the most popular and signature menu items include Prawns and Lobster Bomb, Truffle Mac and Cheese, Korean Fried Chicken and Bastian Cevich. Their exquisite, decadent desserts are also a major highlight, notably the Molten Chocolate Cake and S'more Cheesecake.

Shilpa Shetty's expansion plans

Shilpa Shetty partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bandra, the founder of Bastian, in 2019, and now co-owns numerous outlets across the country, with a 50 percent stake in the brand.

The actor-entrepreneur recently opened a new Bastian outlet in Goa with an auspicious puja ceremony. While her popular Bandra brand is all set to close, they're planning to replace it with a South Indian restaurant named Ammakair. Another venture, Bastian Beach Club, is also expected to launch in Juhu soon.
