Coffee lovers will try almost anything once. Cold brew, dalgona, salted caramel, you name it. Cafes know this, so they keep finding new ways to stand out. This time, Zeoh Surat has done it with a cup straight out of the deep freezer.
What Is The -86°C Coffee At Zeoh Surat?
Vlogger Vatsal Jariwala shared a video on Instagram in which a woman tries the drink at the cafe. It looks like a science experiment, honestly. A staff member takes a frozen cup out of a freezer that sits at -86 degrees Celsius. The cup is covered in frost. Milk goes in first, and then the rich, aromatic coffee is poured over it.

How Is The Viral Coffee Made Without Ice?
Here is the clever bit. Because the cup itself is frosty and freezing, there is no need to add ice. The coffee stays chilled without getting watered down. Anyone who has sipped a sad, diluted iced coffee at the end of a long afternoon will get why that sounds appealing.
One small thing worth pointing out. The headline number belongs to the freezer and the cup, not the coffee in your hand. Once the milk and coffee go in, you are drinking a very cold coffee, not something at -86. Still, it makes for a great video.

Why Is The Internet Curious?
Trust me, the visuals do half the work. The unusual preparation has people wondering how the coffee actually tastes at such an extreme temperature, and whether all that chill changes the flavour. Does it mute the coffee? Does it make it smoother? The video doesn't answer that, which is probably why people keep talking about it.

Is It Safe? What Netizens Are Saying
Not everyone is sold on the idea. One user questioned how the cafe got a licence from FSSAI, and worried that the body could be harmed by internal frostbite. Another listed the risks they see, from lip and mouth burns to tissue tearing, and called it definitely not safe.
These are opinions from social media, not expert advice, and Zeoh Surat hasn't been quoted in the video. But the concern isn't totally off. Touching super-cold surfaces with wet lips is never a great idea, so if you do try something like this, go slow and sip carefully.
So, Would You Try It?
My take? It's a fun gimmick that works brilliantly on Instagram. Whether it works on your taste buds is another story. If you are in Surat and curious, check how the drink is served and whether the staff at Zeoh can tell you more about the process before you order. If you love a plain, hot filter coffee, you can probably skip the drama and stay happy.
