Kalpa

The small town of Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh is located at the base of Kinnaur Kailash ranges. The place is well-connected yet uncrowded as compared to the usual holidaying spots in north India. The town gets covered in snow from December to March and that can be the best time to witness its scenic beauty. Other places to explore include the Kalpa Monastery, Kalpa Reckong Tao and Sapni Fort.

And if you have plans to see snowfall, Gulmarg is the place to go. The best time to visit this meadow of flowers to build your own snowman is from December end to mid February. Do visit the Alpathar Lake, Gulmarg Golfing Club for snow sports and enjoy the snow festival.

Tawang

Not many people head to eastern India to enjoy snow but if you have done the tried and tested stuff, head to Tawang for an outstanding experience. The winter months of November to February offer the best opportunities to view snowy surroundings plus you can get a good dose of Arunachal Pradesh’s culture by attending the Hornbill Festival too!
Auli
Auli is the best place in India to enjoy a variety of snow sports like skiing. Auli has Asia’s longest cable car and the world’s highest man-made lake coupled with amazing views of the Kamet, Mana and Nanda Devi peaks. The best time to visit Auli is November to March to view the place in all its glory.
Rohtang Pass
