Bollywood lost a jewel from its cluster of stars as the industry lost its dearest Calendar (from the iconic Mr India) this Thursday in Delhi. The late actor had suffered a sudden heart attack after which he was taken to the hospital and was declared dead. His body was brought back to Mumbai and his cremation was held in Versova crematorium later on the same day.

The sad occasion saw an ocean of stars, the who’s who of Bollywood and the industry pour in to pay their last respects to their late colleague and offer condolences to the grieving family. Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher, Satish Shah, Rakesh Bedi, Annu Kapoor, Johnny Lever, Boney Kapoor, Anu Malik, Sham Kaushal, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Sanjay Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Shehnaz Gill and many more celebrities were in attendance as the last of rites of late Satish Kaushik were performed. Abhishek Bachchan was seen embracing Anupam Kher who was one of Kaushik’s closest friends. The bond between Kher and Kaushik was so strong that Kher supported Kaushik’s family like a rock throughout the last rites. He was also seen crying inconsolably at the loss of his dear friend and colleague.

Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi and daughter Vanshika. The 10-year old Vanshika took to her Instagram after the funeral of her late father where his last rites were performed by his nephew. The young child expressed her grief at the loss of her dear father with a loving picture of herself and Kaushik embracing in a tight hug. Other Bollywood celebrities such as Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Rakesh Roshan and many more paid tributes as they bid farewell to their dear colleague and friend.

Kaushik was born in Haryana and was raised in Delhi’s Karol Bagh. He later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the movie industry that gave him success and laurels like none other.
