Actor Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya, a film director and daughter of South superstar Rajinikanth have parted ways recently and this news has come as a bolt from the blue to the film industry. The couple, who have two sons, Yatra and Linga, have finally decided to end their 18-year-long relationship. Fans of the two celebrities took to their social media platforms to extend their support in this time of need. Early Love 

Dhanush and Aishwarya got hitched in their early 20s. In 2013, Aishwairya, while talking to Just For Women recalled their first meeting saying she had gone to watch Kaadhal Kondein at the Albert Theatre and sent him flowers with a note appreciating his performance in the movie. Dhanush called back in no time and they began seeing each other. After a brief period of dating, Dhanush, 21 and Aishwarya, 23, got married on November 18, 2004.

Aishwarya made her directorial debut in 2012 with the movie ‘3’. The movie starred Dhanush and Shruti Hassan in lead roles. Although the movie didn’t work well at the box office, its song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ made Dhanush into a national superstar and the song was played on repeat over the coming months.

Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their decision to part ways in January 2022. Dhanush took to his X and wrote, "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate.
