On March 3, Deepika Padukone made India proud again by adding another feather to her hat by making it to the list of Oscars 2023 presenters along with Riz Ahmed, Troy Kotsur, Emily Blunt, Janelle Monae, Jonathan Majors, Glenn Close, Zoe Saldana, Michael B. Jordan, Jennifer Connelly, Questlove, Donnie Yen, Melissa McCarthy, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson and Janelle Monae.

This is not the first time that Padukone has made India proud. Last year at Cannes, the Pathaan actor was on the list of the jury.
Padukone shared on March 1 that she would be the face of Qatar Airways. “Thrilled to be announced global brand ambassador,” her caption read.

During the FIFA World Cup 2022, Padukone unveiled the trophy. She was the first Indian to be bestowed with this honour. She wrote, “From unveiling the FIFA World Cup Trophy to witnessing one of the greatest games in sporting history, I truly couldn’t have asked for more.
Pottery Barn, an international interior design brand, signed Padukone as its brand ambassador. She has been working closely with the team in San Francisco to co-create a capsule collection that will be released in fall, 2023.
In October 2022, The Business Of Fashion pointed out that Padukone was the first Indian to be the brand ambassador of Louis Vuitton which helped the brand create a huge media impact value (MIV) for itself. Seven of the brand’s top 10 images were of Padukone.
The Pathaan actor has introduced the world with her skincare brand 82° East and and has been one of the most sought-after businesswomen. It is interesting to note that Padukone is not the first Indian actor to present at the Oscars. Priyanka Chopra has also done it in the past.

Why Is The Oscars 2023 Special For India?

Oscars 2023 is going to be utterly special for India this year. Not just Padukone will be presenting awards, but a song from an Indian film and two documentaries have been nominated under different categories.
Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been nominated under Best Original Song category. It was composed by MM Keeravaani, and the lyrics were written by Chandrabose. In January 2023, the song won at the Golden Globes for Best Original Song, and the film bagged two awards at the Critics Choice Awards.
The Elephant Whisperers and All That Breathes have been nominated for Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature Film respectively.
