Protein being one of the main ingredients for hair growth, a bowl full of sprouts on a daily basis is a good source of protein and will not only control hair loss but will also aid hair growth! Apart from sprouts, there are a lot more ways of including protein in your diet by consuming foods like fish, egg, beans, nuts, dals etc. 

How To Conduct External Hair Treatment

Apart from eating protein-rich food, you can also apply protein externally to your hair. This will not only improve the texture of the hair but will also restore your hair health. Some of the ingredients that you can apply externally on your hair are as follows:


The white part of the egg is extremely rich in protein. It is recommended for you to apply egg whites on your hair around 20 minutes before you shampoo your hair. This works well, especially for oily hair. In case you have dry hair, it is recommended to apply whole egg masks(read more on hair masks) and not just egg whites. Applying eggs to your hair will nourish it along with cleansing it and adding body. 

Milk And Yogurt

Milk also contains proteins and is extremely good for hair quality and growth, which is why a lot of shampoos have milk content in them. If applied regularly, milk works very well in softening damaged hair. All you have to do is shampoo your hair and then pour milk on your hair. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then rinse it off with clean water. 

In case of extremely dry hair, you can also make a mixture of egg and milk and apply that on your hair approximately half an hour before shampoo. This will ensure soft, and glossy hair. 

You can also apply yogurt to your hair which will work on maintaining the pH balance and promote hair growth.

Apart from this, you can also conduct a pre-shampoo treatment for your hair. All you have to do is make a hair pack with milk powder and a little water. Apply it on your hair and do a hot towel wrap!

Moong Dal

For this paste, all you need to do is let skin-less moong dal soak overnight. Blend it the next morning and apply the paste on your hair. Leave it for half an hour and then wash it off with shampoo
