Pregnancy is one of the life-changing events for a woman. While it affects overall physical health, mental and emotional health are equally affected. Amidst all these, the arrival of a little life into this world makes everything worth sacrificing. Above all, a pregnant woman is advised to take several medical precautions, religious precautions are equally important. Deviprasad Mishra, a Vedic Astrologer, has shared a few dos and don’ts for pregnant women during Pitru Paksha.
Do’s For Pregnant Women During Pitru Paksha
Here are the do’s for pregnant women:
Deviprasad Mishra said, “It is believed that if a woman is pregnant during Pitru Paksha, the unborn child is considered to be a member of the family lineage. There is also an experience that before becoming pregnant during Pitru Paksha, a dream of an ancestor occurs, which signifies that the ancestor is indicating their arrival.”
If a solar or lunar eclipse occurs during Pitru Paksha, pregnant women should apply geru (a red ochre paste) on their stomach, lock themselves in their bedroom, and focus on meditating upon their chosen deity.

Additionally, it is believed that a child born on any Amavasya (new moon day) is considered to be a reincarnation of a family ancestor. However, if a child is born on the Amavasya of Pitru Paksha, it is considered a clear sign that the ancestor is returning to the family.
Jupiter in the 12th house of the horoscope also indicates that the person will bring prosperity and elevate the family. This is because such a Jupiter leads the person to heaven after death.
People born under such conditions are charitable and, though they may not be present in others' happiness, they offer all kinds of help and support during times of sorrow. However, such assistance has been observed to cause disputes within their own family.
