Dhanteras 2025 Astrological Rituals To Observe

Dhanteras will be celebrated on October 18, 2025, marking the commencement of the five-day Diwali festival. According to Drik Panchang Dhanteras 2025 puja muhurat is 07:15 pm to 08:19 pm.

Traditionally, it's a day to worship Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health, and Lord Kubera, the god of wealth. Astrologically, it's believed that performing specific rituals on this day can invite prosperity and well-being into one's life.

1. Dhanteras Diya Process For Dhanteras

“On Dhanteras, put a diya with mustard oil and 9 coriander seeds and simply write the word, ‘Shree’, which refers to Goddess Lakshmi. This is called in shukra (Venus) energies as well as guru (Jupiter) energies, which refer to wealth and then an abundance of wealth or wisdom. When the diya is lit and burning all day, we can symbolise and call in a flow of abundance and prosperity, Tarot Card Reader Pooja Verma explains.

2. Coriander Ritual For Dhanteras

Tarot Card Reader shared, “In the Vedic literature, dhanya (coriander) is a symbolic representation of dhan, wealth and sustenance. Therefore, on Dhanteras, buy some dhanya (coriander) seeds and keep them inside a steel container.” The steel represents firmness and strength. After that, on Bhai Dooj, you will plant these dhanya seeds in clean soil and then consume the dhanya. This act aligns with Prithvi (earth element) for growth, stability, and food for your home in the long term.

3. Diya Placement For Dhanteras

Lighting a diya in certain places is a sacred science, part of Vastu Shastra and astrology. On Dhanteras:

• Light 2 diyas at the main entrance or near water taps, symbolising the flow of wealth and purification.

• Place 1 diya in the kitchen, invoking nourishment and health.

• 1 diya in the bathroom, cleansing karmic impurities.

Light 14 diyas facing south on the rooftop in the evening in honour of the ancestors. This helps to get rid of prita dosha and ensure spiritual harmony and family well-being, and seek blessings.
