Women entrepreneurs in India are making remarkable strides in the business world, from running impactful ventures to addressing challenges facing society. Many such self-made founders gained recognition through Her Startup Show, which allowed them to pitch their unique ideas and startup stories in a bid to secure a 10 lakh grant.
In episodes 3 and 4, each entrepreneur took the stage to pitch their vision to a panel of judges, all competing for the Rs 10 lakh grant to take their business to the next level. While only a select few walked away with the grant, each woman left a lasting impression with their dedication, innovation, and purpose.

Amrita, an IT professional from Chennai, had a completely different outlook on life until she visited an NGO in Bangalore and came across a 3-year-old non-verbal child. Eventually, she learnt that the child was autistic, and this realisation set her on a path of transformation. In 2013, Amrita left her corporate career behind to start Stepping Stones Center, a school dedicated to children with autism and developmental disabilities.
Her mission goes beyond her school, as now she is actively working to integrate inclusive practices and supportive resources into mainstream education systems across India.
On the other hand, with her label Trisarga, Stuti Kumari is single-handedly helping to restore and protect India’s rich heritage. Stuti has not only designed exquisite handcrafted jewellery, but also enabled sustainable livelihoods for local artisans.
Stuti’s pitch struck a chord with the judges, especially when she explained her dream of building an ethical marketplace which curates not just ethnographic jewellery but also highlights stories behind each piece.
After the sudden passing of her husband, Punitha Lakshmi found herself confused and directionless. Instead of giving up, she chose to bring her husband’s dream project to life. She founded Aathmam Traditional, a startup that manufactures biodegradable packaging and dinnerware using natural materials like banana leaves. The eco-conscious alternatives to plastic are suitable for everyday use, festive gatherings, and events.
