Women from all corners of the country, from Jammu and Kashmir to Coimbatore, came on the coveted platform of Her Startup Show, to present their unique businesses and entrepreneurial journeys. All of them were after the 10 lakh grant that only some would go on to secure on the show. From a spice business to a perfume business – the stories were inspirational and motivating.
The show is one-of-it’s-kind, for creating a dedicated space where an all-women jury come together to judge women entrepreneurs. Regional, small businesses, stand the chance to get grants to grow their businesses, while seeking advice and guidance from the jury.
Launched by GroupM Motion Entertainment and Mindshare, the second season of Her Startup Show, with digital partner HerZindagi, is now streaming on Jio Hotstar.
Spices to Perfumes, Varied Businesses Come on the Show
Hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, wheelchair-bound Sumarty G refused to let her disability hinder her dreams. She now runs Sadaf Masaley, a home-grown business of spices, that also provides employment for people with disabilities.
The show also witnessed Nilofer Shaik present her pitch for her line of unique perfumes. Throughout her life, she was expected to conform to traditional expectations for a woman – to marry, have a family and settle down. So, initially, she received very little support from her family when she wished to pursue her dreams. Her line of perfumes, Jesora Premium, has one big USP – they customise perfumes according to the wearer’s personality.

A lot of the entrepreneurs were on the show after encountering real-life problems themselves, and they set out to find solutions for them. Tanvi Prakash, Founder of Gardengram, was one such entrepreneur. Her startup sought to find simple, easy-to-execute solutions for those looking to get into gardening without too much hassle or in-depth knowledge of each plant. She’d already catered to 15,000 customers and was looking for the grant to expand her base further.
On the other hand, Anu Bhat, founder of Tamanna wearables, a brand developing health solutions for senior citizens, came on the show with their unique offering. Their standout product is a wearable that’s worn on the wrist like a watch, which can detect falls and send SOS alerts to family or caretakers.
