Euphoria Season 3 Episode 1 Recap (SPOILER FREE)

In ‘Euphoria’ season three episode one, we see a five-year time jump. All the characters are now out of high school and have stepped into their adult lives. We see Rue trying to stay true to her sober lifestyle this season and still being the narrator for the rest of the crew’s fractured lives.

Maddy and Lexie are both in the entertainment industry. While Maddy is a manager for famous talents, Lexie is a writer’s assistant to a high-powered TV showrunner. The infamous couple that is still together, five years after high school, is Nate and Cassie. The two are engaged now and in the middle of planning a wedding.  We see Nate trying to take over his father’s business but failing at it.

The major difference, rather than what this season lacks, is the glittery makeup, neon lights, and the background score not being in sync with the story like previous seasons. This third season seems very chaotic, which is not only a symbol for the character’s life but also a sign of how life shifts once adulthood starts.
