Bigg Boss is back with Season 19, and if the premiere was anything to go by, we’re in for another season of drama, theatrics, and more than a few what-did-I-just-watch moments. From shirtless push-ups to an SRK parody, we saw it all.
The Bigg Boss 19 Premiere aired on JioHotstar at 9 pm and will later be aired on Colors TV at 10:30 pm.
The premiere included a house tour, hints towards new rules of the house and more.
But the premiere also had its share of really cringeworthy moments. We recap.
Bigg Boss 19: Tanya Mittal’s Spiritual Entry and Question
The conversation starter Tanya Mittal, spiritual influencer, chose. She entered the stage and immediately tried to touch Salman's feet.
She then went on to ask him, "Sachha pyar adhoora rehta hai kya?" Salman says, "I don't know mujhe hua nahi hai, aapki puri life khuli reel hai."
When are we getting over Salman Khan’s love life? Never?
Nehal Chudasma Testing The Boys
If Tanya brought the philosophy, beauty queen Nehal Chudasma brought… a fitness audition?
Nehal, former Miss Diva Universe 2018, remarked that she was into fitness and like people who are fitness enthusiasts.
What followed was Salman bringing boys on stage to impress Nehal Chudasma. Isn’t that the most reality TV ever?
The boys, Baseer Ali and Abhishek Bajaj, known for being part of many television shows, went on to remove their shirts, show off their abs and do push-ups. Nehal was even asked to remark on which she liked more.
It was so cringe, from the get-go.
Bigg Boss 19 Premiere: The Shah Rukh Khan parody
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s look-alike was brought on to entertain the audience, where the whole idea of entertainment was based on his mispronunciation.
He tried to enact a portion from SRK’s film Pathaan, while Salman tried to polish his delivery. The portion seemed like a forced fit, which led nowhere and wasn’t even funny.
If anything, the Bigg Boss 19 premiere proved that the show still knows how to grab eyeballs. It sometimes does so for the right reasons, and sometimes for the awkward, questionable ones.
The premiere was high on theatrics, much like what all episodes also turn out to be usually.
Perhaps, this is exactly why Bigg Boss remains a guilty pleasure? For being equal parts cringe, chaos and comedy. Bigg Boss Season 19 seems set to deliver all three.
