A trip to London is in many people's bucket list but when we want to or are going there, there are many things we need to know. Here are some cool tips and tricks that will make that first London trip worth all that money you are spending for sure.

Stay In Central London

Choose a hotel which is in the center of the city as that will help you save a lot on travel and transport to different must-see locations. You will have better access to the markets, the food options will get better as well. Some of the neighbourhoods that are in central London include Westminster, Bankside, Covent Garden, Soho, and South Bank.

Avoid Bank Holidays

Mark this that the busiest times to visit London are July and August, and European bank holiday weekends and school breaks. So if you want to avoid huge crowds then skip buying the tickets to London these days. However, if you want to go during Holiday Season, avoid the main shopping streets on the weekends and Christmas end of course.

Don’t Try To See Everything

Guys London is huge and you cannot see everything in a few days or weeks. It takes time. Spend 3 to 4 days, check out the landmarks, visit a few attractions and enjoy the food.

Book In Advance

If you want to save money then start booking in advance including your flights, accommodations, and tours. This way you will have more choices, better prices, and less time in the ques. Book them online. For example, the entry to Madame Tussaud's or London Eye, can be booked much in advance to avoid the lines and they can be cheaper as well!

Visit London’s FREE attractions

Most museums are Free in Loon and that includes National Gallery, Science Museum, Tate Modern, British Museum, Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of London and many more.

Changing of the guard

The Changing of the Guard is one of the free things to do and something you should not miss.

The London Pass

This is the ultimate. The London Pass includes FREE entrance to  The Tower of London, The View from The Shard, Westminster Abbey, London Bridge, or London Zoo and experiences like Thames River Cruise or Hop-on Hop-off bus tour... these are just some of the examples but buy it only if you can visit at least 2-3 of the included attractions per day. This is just one of the passes. There are many other passes that include London City Pass and London Explorer Pass.

Public Transport Please

The public transport here is very efficient. Take their metro (the London Tube). It is very fast. However, avoid it during the rush hour. But if you have to travel shorter distances then the buses are the best. I also recommend riding the original red double-decker buses at least once.

One thing my cousin who stays in London recommended is that you get yourself an Oyster Card. It is like an electronic ticket that can be used for all public transport in Greater London and it is way lighter for your pocket than shelling out for single rides.

You can also use your contactless credit card. Just have to scan it when entering the metro, then scan it again when you leave.
