The teaser of the upcoming pan-India mythological film Adipurush starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon that was unveiled in early October had begun a meme fest on social media. While some compared the film with a ‘cheap’ version of the epic television series Game of Thrones, Marvel films, and the Android game Temple Run and other cartoons, some spoke about the portrayal of Raavan by Khan.

The teaser video faced backlashes for the quality of its VFX and netizens called it “caricaturised VFX”. Following which, the makers decided to work on the graphics of the film and postponed the release date of the film from January 2023 to June 2023.

Directed by Om Raut, the National award-winning director and the maker of Tanha Ji: The Unsung Warrior, Adipurush is based on the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. With the help of Hanuman's army, Raghava aims to rescue his wife Janaki, who has been abducted by Lankesh, the king of Lanka.
