Before leading Noida, she served as the DM of Kasganj, where she gained national attention for driving a tractor through flood-hit areas for rescue operations, served Harpur by implementing Ayushman Bharat golden card campaign, and served Greater Noida Authority as Additional CEO and handled urban development and industrial expansion. Medha also held administrative roles in Bareilly, Meerut, Unnao, Lucknow, and Barabanki.

Medha’s academic journey reflects consistency and excellence. She graduated with a BA Honours in Economics from St Stephen's College. She further completed schooling at Naval Public School (Ernakulam) and St Thomas School (Thiruvananthapuram). She cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2014 with an outstanding AIR 10, choosing Psychology as her optional subject, placing her among the top achievers of her batch.

Medha Roopam Family And Personal Life

Medha was born in 1990 and brought up in Agra. She is also the daughter of Gyanesh Kumar, who is a retired 1988-batch IAS officer and current Chief Election Commissioner. She later married Manish Bansal, a fellow 2014-batch IAS officer currently serving as DM of Saharanpur. Beyond administration, she is also a national-level rifle shooter and has won three gold medals at the Kerala State Shooting Championship.

Recently, Medha visited ground zero after violent protests by factory workers over wage hikes, ensuring stability and directing officials for continuous monitoring alongside Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh. She appealed to the workers to maintain calm, mentioning, "To maintain industrial harmony and peace in the district, I reached Ground Zero along with the Police Commissioner Madam to assess the situation. Instructions were given to the concerned officials for continuous and effective monitoring, and an appeal was made to the worker brothers and sisters to maintain peace."
