Rakshit Chaurasia, the 23-year-old accused in the fatal Vadodara crash, was previously involved in an incident in February 2025. He and his friends were reportedly drunk and causing a ruckus in a house which was later reported to Sayajiganj police station. The main accused in the Vadodara road accident has denied speeding, claiming that the car's airbag suddenly deployed, leading to the crash. Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia shared, “We were going ahead of the scooty, we were turning right and there was a pothole on the road. There was a scooty and a car while we were turning right….The car slightly touched the other vehicle and the airbag opened suddenly, our vision was hampered and the car went out of control. We were going at 50 km/hour.”

Who Is Rakshit Chaurasia?
Rakshit Chaurasia, a law student from Varanasi, lives in a PG accommodation in Vadodara, according to DCP Panna Momaya. The woman who lost her life in the accident has been identified as Hemali Patel, who was riding her scooter when the crash occurred.
As per his LinkedIn profile, Chaurasia studies at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara. The car involved in the crash is registered under Duan Technology, a company owned by the father of Pranshu Chauhan, who was with Chaurasia during the incident. Pranshu has also been taken into custody, said DCP Panna Momaya.
