How Did Two Young Sisters Die After Consuming Dosa?
A deeply unfortunate and concerning incident from Ahmedabad raises questions about the consumption of packaged and store-bought food items. Two young sisters, identified as Raha Prajapati (three months old) and Mishri Prajapati (four years old), died after consuming dosa prepared at home using ready-made batter in Ahmedabad's Chandkheda area. While their parents also suffered severe food poisoning, they are reported to be in stable condition. The incident follows the father, Vimal Prajapati, who purchased three kg of idli-dosa batter from Ghanshyam Dairy on April 1, 2026, on the IOC Road, and the family prepared and consumed dosas from the same batter later that night. However, by the next morning, the entire family suffered from severe food poisoning. While the parents' condition stabilised, it worsened again after they consumed more dosa from the same batter on April 2, 2026. The youngest daughter succumbed to death on April 4, 2026, while her elder sister, Mishri, died the next day after falling unconscious.

How Did The Three Month Old Child Died Due To Dosa
The death of the three-month-old Raha is a mystery, as she was exclusively breastfed and did not consume solid food. Her body was buried shortly after her death, which was later exhumed by the Ahmedabad Police on April 7, 2026, for a forensic post-mortem to investigate the exact cause of death. Theories suggest that toxins from the contaminated batter consumed by the mother, Bhavna, were transmitted to the infant while breastfeeding.
