
Television actor, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Rohit Mittal have ended their one-year-old marriage. They announced their decision to split about a month ago on their Instagram handle. There were rumours about their marriage being on the rocks since months ago.
Last month the actress took to her Instagram account to announce that she and her husband have mutually decided to part their ways after a lot of contemplation. In the post, she wrote, "Hi everyone, Rohit Mittal and I have mutually decided to part our ways and end our marriage. After months of contemplation, we arrived at this decision a few months ago in each other's best interest, as individuals. Not every book is supposed to be read cover to cover, that doesn't mean the book is bad, or one can't read, some things are best left unfinished. Thank you Rohit for the irreplaceable memories and always inspiring me. Have a great life ahead, forever your cheerleader." Check out her post below:

In a recent interaction with an online portal, Shweta opened up about her split, professional life and her plans of falling in love again. Confirming the divorce news, the actress said, “Yes, we have filed for a legal separation.” Ask her about what led to the separation in just a year (Shweta and Rohit became man and wife on Dec 13, 2018). The Tashkent Files actress says with utmost grace, “Rohit and I are perfectly cordial and friendly. As I had mentioned in my post it was a mutual decision. He has always been very supportive of my acting career and I am his fan, he is a wonderful filmmaker and I hope we work together some day. We had 5 years of a very loving, healthy and loyal relationship, we just decided to end the marriage and remain, friends, that’s it.”

When asked about falling in love again, Shweta said that she does not refrain from the idea however she is primarily focused on her career for now. She mentioned that if love happens organically then she is okay with it. “Of course I am not closed to the idea of falling in love again but right now my only focus is my career and my work. Love happens organically great, if it doesn’t happen then no problem. Not looking for it, " she said.

The actress further revealed that she has 5 projects in her kitty. “There are 5 projects that are releasing this year! 2020 I have my hands full. There will be Shukranu opposite Diveyanndu Sharma, a reliance film set in the 70’s during the emergency. Then there is Sudhir Mishra’s Serious Men, a Netflix original film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. 2 web series and one more film that I had shot for more than a year ago called Jamun with Raghubeer Yadav. In Jamun, I play a cross-eyed girl (squint), Raghubir Yadav plays my father who is trying to find me a groom, but because of her condition, she is not getting a suitor. It’s a nice one”, Shweta concluded.
