Ranbir Kapoor and Sharddha Kapoor starrer Luv Ranjan’s upcoming movie set caught fire on July 29. Photos from the set in Andheri, Mumbai, show black smoke emerging from the set. Reports suggest actors were not at the location, and one has been reported dead.
According to the Press Trust of India, a civic official told them, “The blaze erupted at a film set installed at Chitrakoot Ground next to the Andheri Sports Complex around 4.30 p.m.” Three fire engines reached the station on time and got the fire under control.

Mumbai Hospital Reported One Dead
According to a Republic Worldreport, a doctor from Cooper Hospital in Mumbai has confirmed the death of a 32-year-old male, Manish Devashi. Dr Sadaphule said that the man was brought dead.

‘Ground Is Illegally Given On Hire’
Filmmaker and producer Ashok Pandit took to Twitter to share a video of the set caught on fire. Black smoke can be seen engulfing the set and taking over the blue sky. He wrote, “Praying for well-being of all the technicians and workers of the film industry.”

In yet another post, he wrote, “This ground is illegally given on hire for marriage and studio purposes.” He also tagged Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the governing civic body of Mumbai, and the Mumbai Police.

Rajveer Deol Was Shooting Nearby
Times of India also reported that Rajveer Deol, Sunny Deol’s younger son, was shoot on an adjacent set to the one that caught fire. He was busy shooting for his debut film under the banner of Rajshri Productions. The fire on Ranjan’s set also brought Deol’s shooting to a halt. Actors, directors and workers, all were sent home.

Luv Ranjan’s Film
This untitled and upcoming film of Ranjan has a fresh pairing of Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The movie was supposed to be released on March 18, this year. The actor’s February 2021 post states, “Mark your calendars! Luv Ranjan’s next starring Ranbir Kapoor & Shraddha Kapoor will release on Holi, 18th March! Produced by Luv Ranjan & Anjur Garg, presented by Gulshan Kumar & Bhushan Kumar. Also starring Dimple Kapadia & Boney Kapoor.”

The actors have shot many scenes in Mauritius. According to sources of Pinkvilla, “Luv wanted a few specific locations to film a couple of important sequences, and found Mauritius to be a perfect destination for it.”

While the film got delayed due to the pandemic, Ranjan has officially shared the release date of the film on his Instagram account. The post read, “Luv Ranjan’s untitled next featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor will release in cinemas on Holi, March 8, 2023!”
