I still can't get over the phase when I used to cringe to go to school to avoid being bullied by my classmates and seniors for being short and over-weight. Every day, I used to make new excuses to my parents for not going to school and being called 'nattu' (short) 'motu' (fat). I hardly had any friends and I used to stay indoors to avoid being further bullied by kids in my locality. I had no one to share my plight. Bullying affects a child's psychology and makes her/him lose confidence in herself/himself.

Recently, famed actress Radhika Apte too has come out speaking against it. The 'Sacred Game' actress recently took to Instagram with a video where she spoke on bullies and bullying,  alongside the caption, "Thank you so much @kunalkapoor.This wonderful film #Nobleman made by #vandanakataria speaks about some really important subjects... a small film so well made... Please do watch it and join us in standing against bullying. "

In the video, Apte can be heard saying how she remembers two incidents of being bullied. First when due to her "big" size she was nicknamed "mammoth" in school and she was scared of wearing certain clothes or participate in certain things because of that. The second time, according to her was when during school elections a boy asked her classmates to not talk to her for two days, and no one actually did, which affected her deeply.  The actress ended by saying, "bullying can really traumatise people."

Soon after the actress shared her views on bullying, a lot of people opened up about their unfortunate experiences on her social media feed as well.

One user wrote, "Bullying happens in adulthood too, I have experienced personally when a friend tries to cut you off by spreading false information and making others disgustingly treat you. They behave ruthlessly in real and social media. Commenting at circulating offensive words about you and cutting you off from another friend circle. It is upto you how you stand up and make up your mind, "while another posted,  "Even i bullied in my school days, even now... I was body shamed.. but i grew out of it and im loving how I am.."

A third user went on to poignantly pen, "You used to be big? Surprising! I used to be when I was little and people made fun of me also. Thank you for opening up about this topic. Because so many people go through this and we need brave people like you to open up so that they can open up, you are a #trailblazer."

Turns out Radhika Apte is not the only celebrity to have been bullied.

Bollywood film 'Noblemen' starring Kunal Kapoor has broken the shackles of monotony and has brought forth this social evil to people with the medium of cinema.

I could relate to the film, as it aptly portrayed bullying and its impact on the person's life. 'Noblemen' is based on William Shakespeare's play, The Merchant Of Venice.

After 'Noblemen' a new challenge #BootheBully has started, where actors are coming forward to share their experiences of being bullied and are encouraging others to also share their ordeal. Several actors took to their Instagram to share their plight.

‘Gulaab Gang’ actress Priyanka Bose accepted the #BootheBully challenge and shared how she was being bullied at workplace both by men and women for her looks and the way she talks. She also brought forth the major point to fore that bullying is not limited to student life but if the person doesn't stand up for herself or himself, it can affect her/him throughout her/his life.
