One of the most talented actors in the industry, Neena Gupta has contributed to many hit Tv serials as well as Bollywood movies over the years. With her stylish and edgy fashion and solo trip diaries, the 63-year-old actor has often proved that age is just a number. However, Gupta recently revealed ageism and sexism in the film industry in an interview with The Good Times. 

She said, “Actors always want to work with young actresses no matter how old they are themselves.” She thanked Ram Kapoor for agreeing to work with her. She said, “I would like to thank Ram Kapoor as he agreed to work with me and cast opposite me for this show.” The two stars Neena Gupta and Ram Kapoor recently appeared in the Netflix series Masaba Masaba Season two together.

When Neena Gupta was asked about the issue of sexism in the industry. She said “We all are living in a male dominant society where women are still in minority” in the interview. 

Asked For Work On Social Media

In the year 2017, Neena Gupta shared a post on Instagram asking for work. She posted a picture of herself and captioned it, "I live in Mumbai and working as a good actor looking for good parts to play." 

Her daughter Masaba Gupta reshared the post on her Instagram story and wrote that because of genetics she is never afraid/ shy to ask for work.

Neena Gupta Acting Career

Neena Gupta began her acting career with the Bollywood film Saath Saath in 1982. Afterward, she worked in several hit TV shows and movies. In 1994, Gupta received a National Film Award for her supporting role in Woh Chokri.
