Bihar's Shreya Shanker, who was recently crowned Miss India United Continents 2019 at the grand finale of Femina Miss India 2019, has a special place for specially-abled in her heart. Shreya says she wants to spread awareness about the people suffering from Cognitive Disabilities. "I am very close to the specially-abled citizens and want to spread awareness about the people suffering from Cognitive Disabilities as our unawareness leads to losing lives which is alarming," Miss India United Continents 2019 told this correspondent.
The DPS Vasant Kunj pass out who is also a student of Management Studies from Maharashtra was crowned Miss India United Continents 2019 by the outgoing titleholder Gayatri Bharadwaj. The young diva was given the title alongside Suman Rao who was crowned Miss India 2019 and Chhattisgarh's Shivani Jadhav who was declared Miss Grand India 2019.

Shreya will represent India at Miss United Continents 2019 pageant to be held in late 2019. From where Andrea Sáenz of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the pageant.
Speaking about winning the crown, Shreya adds that having won has made her surer about herself. "I feel more confident about myself and it made me realise that I can conquer my dreams if I work hard for it," she says, adding, "I am extremely happy about winning the Miss India United Continents 2019 crown."

Elaborating further on what the crown represents, Shreya says, "I feel that Miss India is only a path through which we can achieve what we truly want to."
Shreya, however, also goes on to say that she would still want to explore the real world and become an entrepreneur.
It was a warm welcome for Miss India United Continents 2019 Shreya Shanker back home, with family, relatives, and locals celebrating her victory.
As for her advice to youngsters, Shreya says, “Take risks and always go for what they want to without having any second thoughts. It’s very important to dream big as dreams do come true.”
The newly crowned Miss India United Continents who finds inspiration in her parents concludes by elaborating on what pageantry means to her. She says, "Pageantry gives you an opportunity to be who you truly are, voice your opinions and helps you take a small step in making a difference."
